You can start training at any age, but you must be at least 16 to solo and 17 to earn your Private Pilot License. There’s no maximum age—if you’re healthy and motivated, it’s never too late to learn to fly.
You don’t need a medical certificate to start flight training, but you will need a Third-Class Medical before you can solo. We’ll help you understand how to get one and what to expect from the process.
The FAA requires a minimum of 40 flight hours, but most students finish in 55–70 hours, depending on frequency and consistency. Many students earn their license within 4–6 months with regular lessons.
Most training is done in a reliable, well-equipped Cessna 172, but we also have access to Piper aircraft for added experience and endorsements as needed.

To solo or earn your Private Pilot License, you’ll need a Third-Class FAA Medical Certificate. It’s a simple exam conducted by an FAA-authorized Aviation Medical Examiner (AME) that checks your overall health, vision, and hearing.
You don’t need to get it before starting lessons, but you’ll need it before your first solo flight. We recommend getting it early in your training to avoid surprises.
We’re happy to help you find a local AME and walk you through what to expect.

“Vince made learning to fly something I actually looked forward to.”
I started my private pilot training with zero experience and a lot of nerves, but Vince was super patient and made every lesson feel doable. He broke things down in a way I could understand, and we always took the time to go over questions. I never felt rushed. Honestly, I couldn’t have asked for a better instructor.
“Great instruction, great plane, and a really supportive vibe.”
Vince is just a solid instructor. He takes the time to explain things without making you feel dumb, which I really appreciated. I liked how each lesson was structured, but still flexible depending on how I was doing that day. The Cessna 172 was clean and well taken care of, and flying it made the whole process even better. If you’re serious about getting your PPL, this is the place to do it.
“Getting back into flying after 12 years felt surprisingly easy with Vince.”
I hadn’t flown since my early 30s and was honestly a bit intimidated to jump back in. Vince was super easy to talk to and didn’t make me feel like I had to prove anything. He helped me knock the rust off quickly while also rebuilding my confidence. The flight review was straightforward, but we still covered a ton. I’ve already started planning some weekend trips again.
